By now we all are aware of how Osama bin Laden has gone
viral. Our troops over seas did an excellent job! A promise by the government
was made and a promise was kept. President Obama stated “Our country kept its
commitment to see that justice is done, the world” he said “is a better place
because of bin Laden’s death, and the successful operation reminds Americans
that there is “nothing we can’t do” when we work together.” Regardless of the length of time it took the
president is right there is nothing we can’t do.
Back to the home front though, a promise was made regarding
the housing market, job market and economy in general. Unfortunately this as
well is going to take some time. It took time for us to dig this hole; it will
take time to climb out of it.
Many are trying desperately to sell their homes with little
to no luck on the market. Knowing that the real estate market isn’t going to
improve overnight and your luck isn’t going to improve much soon, ask yourself
“Why am I trying to sell?”
Why are you trying to sell?
Is for financial reasons such as foreclosure, a rental you
can’t afford to keep up, a home you inherited and need to liquidate or even
because you are relocating for a better job? In cases such as these you might
look for investors such as 2SellHomes, private lenders, or cash buyer so that
you can sell quick.
Is it so that you can find a rental house and not worry
about the upkeep of owning your home? If so I wouldn’t be too quick to sale
right now. Research your town and the surrounding towns. In many places renting
a home is becoming more expensive then paying a mortgage payment. Plus you
don’t get to reap the tax benefits and you lose any equity that may remain in
the property. Stick with it, your equity will soon return.
So remove the stress of trying to sell your home unless you
have to. In the mean time why don’t you make your home something you want to
stay in? If you need the money to make
the updates check with your bank. It may be easier to get a small unsecured
loan through your bank right now than a large mortgage loan.
How can you make your home an oasis? Well what is it that you WANT??
Need more room but don’t want to take on a full
construction? No problem! You can create an illusion of more room by doing a
few simple tasks. Adding mirrors will distribute light giving the feel of
space. By placing the mirrors high creates a mock window effect. You can remove
any doors allowing more free flow of space. If a door is required then consider
replacing the door with a full glass door or French door. Being able to see
through to the outside or other room bring the two together giving an open
feel. Painting can also create an illusion dark colors will make the room
appear darker where as light colors make room appear larger.
Maybe you want
something nicer more lavish. So put a few dollars into the home. Add a spa tub
to the bath room. Install custom tile on the floors, counters or shower area.
Upgrade form a single sink to a double sink and new sink in the kitchen as
well. Replace your old faucets and hardware with new top grade ones.
Since it obvious there won’t be any big changes overnight
why not improve on what you have. The hidden gem in this is once you are able
to sell your home fast you will get more out of it since you have increased its
value.
