We all treasure our homes. It’s our place of solitude when
the world gets to crazy. Unfortunately there is not a single thing that does
not need some kind of upkeep and maintenance. Our homes seem to be the drama
queen of them all. Everything from a split in a screen needing repaired to a
major heating overhaul.
Below are a few helpful
hints that will make your high maintenance mansion a breeze to handle. Some of
these tips you can use as you prepare your home to sell fast. Taking
preventative measures now will help as you encourage the interest of buyers
later. If buyers just aren’t coming fast enough give us a call we’ll help ya
out!
Until then, I will be giving you 200 interesting points that
you can use around the house. Some so simple will make you wonder why you
didn’t think of it first! Others I am including as helpful tidbits of
information as well as a little humor here and there. Smile life is short have
to enjoy it while we can!
Let’s gets started!
1. Remove
Broken Key From Lock.
Put some super
glue on broken off part, insert and hold a few seconds
- will pull
out rest of key. (make sure you don’t use too much or you will
actually glue it in there.)
2. Remove
Broken Light Bulb.
Stick a bar of
soap into jagged edges, use soap as handle. (a lot of people use body wash now
days so you can do the same thing with a raw potato)
3. Remove
Stubborn Screw.
Heat with a
soldering iron for a few seconds first then remove
4. Protect
Children From Sockets.
Keep a piece
of electrical tape over them when not in use.
5. Good
Glass Door Safety Tip.
Put a BIG
decal on those glass and patio doors. =D hehe
6. Keep
Nails From Splitting Wood.
Blunt sharp
end of nail before you use by hitting with a hammer.
7. Repair
Small Holes In Screen.
Plug holes
with clear nail polish, let dry, repeat until filled.

Straighten Warped Phono Records.
Place record
between two sheets of glass, set in sun for a while.
9. Best Way To Clean Phono Records. (as if any
one has any now days.. but ya never know!)
Dip in
solution of detergent and water, rinse and wipe dry.
10. Make
Your Own Fireplace Logs.
Roll
newspapers up tightly in shape of log. Papers are wood. So it would only be
reasonable that if you roll it up tight it will become a log! =D
11. How To
Remove Oil From Driveway.
Cover with
sand, let stand a few days, then sweep off. Since we all don’t live close to a beach you
can use kitty litter just the same!

12. Keep
Fish Hooks From Rusting.
Stick them in
a cork and submerge in some baking soda. Fish might not like the taste but the
water will wash it off quick enough.
13. Make
Sandpaper Last Longer.
Back sandpaper
with masking tape or duct tape.. they say here in Oklahoma Duct tape fixes
everything! =D
14. How To
Revive Old Razor Blades.
Rub them back
and forth inside of a drinking glass. They may just be dehydrated! =D hehe
15. Where
To Sell Box Tops And Labels.

16. Remove
Labels From Bottles & Jars.
Fill with hot
water and then submerge in hot water, will just fall off.
17. Cut
Glass Without Glass Cutter.
Use tin snips
and cut under water, smooth rough edges with sandpaper. Be careful because you
can still get hurt.
18. Easy To
Unglue Stamps & Envelopes.
Put in freezer
a few hours then flip off with knife blade.
19. Get
Water Out Of Your Watch.
Strap watch to
light bulb, turn on for a few minutes. Water drops will form on crystals, open
up and wipe off. This one makes a good science project!
20. Prevent
Snow Sticking To Shovel.
Coat shovel with car wax.
